Emma Fitzpatrick was born in Dublin and based between Dublin and Leicester. Her landscape work revolves around printmaking using monotype mixed sometimes with dry point and etching. Emma work has been influenced by the remote, vast, landscape of the West Coast of Ireland. She is inspired by the dramatic weather fronts and the primordial feel of the land plus the visible remnants of past human activity scattered around. Each image goes through a lot of change on the plate through adding and rubbing away of ink until finally one ‘moment in time’ is captured when put through the press. Emma was awarded a ‘Develop your Creative Practice’ grant from Arts Council England in 2019 to develop her work as a printmaker. She has shown work in annual exhibitions including the Royal Society of British Artists, the Graphic Society of Fine Art, Society of Women Artists, Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin and several Woolwich Contemporary Print Fairs.
