Eden Gard is a Multidisciplinary Artist whose work focuses on the intersections of science, magic and religious practice. She utilises ancient alchemical motifs to deconstruct and reimagine scientific formula, creating a commentary on how the ethos of the modern world affects and is affected by the mind, body and soul. Her personal experience as a transgender woman ties deeply into the philosophical side of her practice - how the mind and soul connect to the physical form, how in turn this connects to the natural world, and at what point our being becomes supernatural or divine. Living as a minority also drives her interest towards belief systems as a whole and how they can affect societal opinions and development. Most recently she has been working with the Jungian concept of collective unconscious and the perfect self (conjunction of the anima and animus), and how that is developing within the digital age. More exactly, how quantum physics as the practice has become so extensively theoretical that it is beginning to mirror an ideological belief system in itself.
