Thistle Morgan is a Queer printmaker based in Bristol, UK. With a background in illustration from the University of the West of England, Thistle has transitioned from a career in teaching back to creating personal art. Currently, Thistle is pursuing an MA in Multidisciplinary Printmaking at UWE. Their earlier work explored the perception of bodies through the lens of others. However, Thistle's recent series, "Changelings," marks a shift towards introspection. This body of work delves into their experiences growing up as a working-class, Catholic, young, trans+, and neurodivergent individual. "Changelings" examines the expectations placed on young people and the profound impact an organized religious upbringing can have on Queer youth. Through this series, Thistle aims to highlight and critique these formative experiences, offering a nuanced exploration of identity, societal norms, and personal resilience.
