Emma Studd | SEVEN
One-off Screenprint
Image size: 42 cm x 59.4 cm
Paper size: 42 cm x 59.4 cm
Edition of 1
Price: £245 unframed
Emma prints mostly original one-off works of art, predominantly on paper but also on wood and canvas.
She uses the screen as a drawing tool to explore the relationship between colour, shape and pattern. She is currently investigating the versatility of one shape, the hexagon. Singularly, the hexagon is still, flat, complete. When multiplied, overlaid, varied in colour and opacity, it presents an infinite realm of possibilities. It morphs and disguises itself amongst other forms. It creates movement, rhythm, and illusion, connecting with others to resemble cubes and producing multiple patterns.
The language of colour allows Emma to express herself. She loves to play with the interaction and transparency of the ink. She instinctively uses certain colours which harmonise and contrast together, creating a sense of depth and balance between chaos and control. The use of neon and metallic colours featured heavily in her work and reminds us of the precise handmade quality of the screenprints.
This artwork is also available to purchase via Own Art for £24.5 per month. To request an Own Art application or for more information about the Own Art process contact rebecca@woolwichprintfair.com
