Framed/unframed

Alejandra Valdivia's work is driven by a profound curiosity to observe objects and their interactions from an aerial perspective. By capturing images from a top-down viewpoint, Alejandra transcends conventional sight lines, delving deeper into the relationships among objects and their spatial organization on the plane. Central to her artistic approach is a fascination with elements of repetition, scale, parallel lines, and negative space. She employs these visual techniques to construct captivating compositions that invite viewers on an immersive visual journey. Alejandra's recent series, "Transmute the Everyday," features a collection of photographs taken from the sky. Through this body of work, the artist effectively de contextualizes the elements below, stripping away their everyday associations and prompting reinterpretation. As viewers engage with these images, they are encouraged to reconsider the significance of seemingly mundane objects and spaces, discovering hidden beauty and meaning in the process. Ultimately, the artist's work serves as a powerful reminder of the boundless possibilities that emerge when we shift our perspective and embrace new ways of seeing. Alejandra pursued her photography studies at the Richard Stromberg´s Institute from 2009 to 2010. Additionally, she participated in Matias Movillo's work analysis workshop in 2021-2022 and attended Javiera Infante's project development workshop in 2023-2024, both in Chile. She has showcased her work in various independent shows and exhibitions since 2021. Notable exhibitions include "Focal Mode" a photography exhibition in January 2024, and "Artstgo" an art fair held in August 2023 and August 2022 in Santiago, Chile. She also participated in several Photography Collective exhibition at Galería en Tránsito, Santiago, Chile.
