Rosemary was a secondary art teacher in Doncaster, before opening her own gallery and workshop area. She is now retired, and works from home in Doncaster, using the garden shed and the dining room to print and collage her ideas. Often travelling to inspiring locations in Cornwall, Wales, Northumberland, Yorkshire dales and the Lake District, Rosemary is drawn to wild places and particularly loves rocks and rushing water. She has exhibited widely throughout the North of England, having solo exhibitions in Doncaster, Leeds, Mexborough and Richmond North Yorks. Her collagraphs are created on card, using a wide variety of found materials, mediums and papers to create textures and depth. She also scratches, scrapes and sands areas to try to achieve a variety of different qualities of mark, varying the colours in experimental ways. Rosemary then rips and cuts her prints up to create her collages, sometimes adding printed tissue, highlights and shade for depth. The collages are based on photos and drawings of rocky landscapes such as Ingleton waterfall trail and Padley Gorge.
