Andrea Abbatangelo (born on 1981 in Italy, lives and works in London) works within public art and uses an expanded definition that involves spatial installation, printmaking and sculpture. His work is also informed by the disciplines of social and natural sciences. Abbatangelo was recipient of the UAL Home Postgraduate Scholarship 2021 at Central St Martins. His current body of work "New Observations on the History of Bees" was recently presented at "This Is Not A Party" at Trinity Buoy Wharf; Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair 2022; Press & Play at Phoenix Art Space and Vision-ary at 13 Soho Square, promoted by The Earth Vision. 13 works from this series have been presented in his solo show A.A.LLES at Atelierhaus LEW1, during the festival »12. Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie« in Darmstadt, Germany. Abbatangelo’s works have been exhibited in festivals and museums such as La Biennale di Venezia (2011), Documenta 13 (2012), Marseille Provence 2013 / European Cultural Capital, Manifesta 11 & 12 (2016 and 2018), MASP in Sao Paulo, Fundacao Calouste Gulbenkian in Lisbon, CCCB in Barcelona and the Today Art Museum, Beijing.
