Zinta Jaunitis is a London based artist. Her practice, centred on drawing, blurs the boundaries between experience and imagination to create story fragments and dreamlike, open-ended narratives. With a background in art and design, her work draws on a wide range of literary and art historical references which she uses playfully to spark a lyrical and intuitive response.
Zinta delights in fluidity, working with formats and materials which allow for movement and invite the viewer into a dialogue which can be surprising, unpredictable and joyful. She leans into the expressive and immediate nature of monoprinting, using direct mark-making and layering as a way of introducing chance into her process, lifting the work out of the predictable and into the poetic.
She has an MA in Illustration from Camberwell College of Art, an MA in Visual Culture, and a BA in Graphic Design. Zinta has recently exhibited at Studio Amwell and Fitzrovia Gallery and Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair. Her work is held in the private art collection of Domaine Mirabeau in France. She is currently working in her East London studio on a new series, exploring the intersections of print, drawing, and three-dimensional approaches to storytelling.
