Sarah Price

£0.00
Sarah Price is a GP and printmaker based in East London. She works predominantly in linocut but also etching, collagraph and monoprint. Her work explores a sense of place, home and memory. In her ‘Olympic Park’ series of landscapes she creates detailed, multilayer reduction lino prints which celebrate the beauty and wildness of nature coexisting symbiotically with the urban architecture of her adopted home of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London. She is inspired by moments of connection and continuity she finds in these daily-frequented spaces amidst the changing seasons of family life: the mundane, the griefs, the joys. Her work is often imbued with a sense of time, memory and nostalgia. She is self-taught and has studied in short courses with Katherine Jones and Anne Desmet. Her draw to nature stems from a childhood spent in the Cotswolds, and her early love of relief printmaking developed during a period living in Kolkata, India, where she was inspired by the local wood-block and textiles printing.
