Danny Cameron

£0.00
Danny’s work is an exploration in to the validity of the subject(s) of Painting & Printmaking per se. The approach incorporates both a painterly sensibility, and starkly graphic edge, applying pigment in an aggressive, yet playful manner, occupying a space somewhere between Figuration & Abstraction. Referencing elements drawn from a deep understanding of Painting’s histories, as well as ‘glossy’ magazines & cartoons, motifs are passed through personal filters and subsequently deformed, the resultant image feels caricature’d, imbued with an irreverent sarcasm. Danny currently lives in Manchester, he graduated from the University of Salford with a BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art, later training as a University Lecturer, and is now studying on the TURPS Banana painting programme, working from his Studio in Salford. He has recently been shortlisted for the Jackson’s Painting Prize.
