Chloe Barnes

£0.00
Chloe Barnes' work explores the embodiment of emotion from the female experience. Her practice is rooted in the use of monoprinting, an intuitive process that allows her to create unique and expressive prints. Inspired by found photographs, folklore and mythology, Chloe's recent body of monotypes investigates female empowerment through witches and the Greek Heroine, Atalanta. She often incorporates costumes, masks and anthropomorphism into her imagery. In addition to expressive mark-making, these elements allow Chloe to evoke a deeper sense of storytelling and mystery, which reflect the human condition and imbue a sense of emotional resonance between the subject and the viewer. Chloe graduated from the University West of England in January 2023 with an MA in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking. Since 2022, she has exhibited across the country, including Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, the Royal Scottish Academy's Annual Exhibition and the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition (March 2023), where she was awarded the Hahnemühle Fine Art Award. This June, Chloe was also shortlisted for The Margate Art Prize by Tracey Emin.
