Porthmeor Print Workshop
Porthmeor Print Workshop is a non-profit-making open-access printmaking facility for artists to come and make etchings, monoprints, collagraphs or lino-cuts using one of three full-sized etching presses. We are open to both members and non-members. As it is run by volunteers, no teaching is included and so users will be required to work independently after a studio induction. Most basic materials and etching paper can be purchased at cost price in the workshop and members can store their own materials there.
This fantastic historic space was originally a sail-loft and has been used as an art facility since the 1960’s, previously known as St Peter’s Loft, an art school run by Peter Lanyon, Terry Frost and Karl Weschke. It has been a print workshop for the last 30 years, with artists such as Breon O’Casey, Roy Walker, Rose Hilton and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham all having worked there.
